The three places I want to visit before I die are all natural attractions. First is Salar de Uyuni, second are the Maldive Islands, and the third is Mars. I want to go to Salar de Uyuni which, as you may know, is famous for its salt flats. Many people go sightseeing there because it is a once in a lifetime photo opportunity: the reflection of the blue sky by the pale salt flats is truly spectacular. As for the Maldives, the islands may soon be submerged due to global warming, so I want to visit before they go underwater. Lastly, Mars may seem like a random and somewhat odd choice, but if I get the chance to go, it would be beyond amazing.

내가 죽기 전에 가보고 싶은 세 곳은 모두 자연 명소야. 첫째는 우유니 사막, 둘째는 몰디브 섬, 셋째는 화성이야. 너도 알다시피 나는 소금 평지로 유명한 우유니 사막에 가고 싶어. 많은 사람들이 그곳에 관광을 가는 이유는 인생 사진을 찍을 수 있기 때문이기도 해. 새하얀 소금에 푸른 하늘이 비치는 것은 정말 장관일거야. 그리고 몰디브는 지구온난화로 인해 섬들이 곧 물에 잠길 수도 있기 때문에, 잠기기 전에 가보고 싶어. 마지막으로, 화성은 가능성이 엉뚱하고 다소 이상하게 들릴 수 있지만, 만약 내가 갈 기회가 생긴다면, 정말 경이로울 것 같아.

It’s unfortunate that our time on Earth is limited because there are so many things I want to do before I die. If I were to pick three among them, it would be skydiving, learning five languages, and writing an autobiography. I love taking on challenges, and I really want to challenge myself to experience the thrill of skydiving. As well, learning English has opened many doors for me, and I want to learn other languages in order to fully experience other cultures. Finally, writing an autobiography will allow me to reflect on my life and leave behind a story.

나는 죽기 전에 가장 해보고 싶은 것은 너무 많고, 시간이 한정되어 있다는 게 너무 속상할 정도야. 그중에서 추리자면, 스카이다이빙, 5개 국어 익히기, 자서전 쓰기야. 나는 도전하는 것을 좋아하는데 짜릿한 스카이다이빙에 꼭 도전해보고 싶어. 그리고 영어를 배움으로써 얻은 것이 많았는데, 다른 언어들을 배우며 그 언어를 통해 또 다른 새로운 문화들을 접하고 싶어. 마지막으로 자서전을 통해 내 인생을 돌아보며 글로 정리해보고 남겨놓고 떠나고 싶어.
